Tsuga essential oil (Tsuga canadensis) has a fresh, clean scent. The oil is distilled from the needles and twigs of conifer trees. The bark from these trees was used by Native Americans to make poultices. The Tsuga tree produces small needle like structures that are scattered on the ground below the branches. The tree is tall in height and tapers from the top in a pyramid shape. The bark and leaves of the tree are used in producing tea and other products.
