Marjoram
Marjoram (Origanum majorana) has a woody, spicy aroma. A calming oil, it has a warming effect
on both mind and body and soothes tense muscles after exercise. It is beneficial for occasional
simple nervous tension* and may also be used for cooking.
Marjoram has an approximate ORAC of 1,390,055 (TE/L).
TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
How to use: For dietary, aromatic or topical use. When using as a supplement,
put one drop in a capsule or in 4 fl. oz. of soy or rice milk.
Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor's care, consult your physician.
Dilution recommended for topical use. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the
face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and
very small children.

Action: Anti-infectious, antibacterial, dilates blood vessels, regulates blood pressure, soothes muscles, promotes intestinal peristalsis, tones the parasympathetic nervous system, and supports respiratory system.
Traditional Uses: Marjoram was known as the “herb of happiness” to the Romans and “joy of the mountains” to the Greeks. It was believed to increase longevity.
Fragrant Influence: Assists in calming the nerves.
Indications: Aches, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis, indigestion, constipation, cramps,
insomnia, migraine headaches, neuralgia, rheumatism, and sprains.
Other Uses: Marjoram may be relaxing and calming to the muscles that constrict and
sometimes contribute to headaches. It may help anxiety, nervous tension, bruises, burns, sores, cuts,
circulatory disorders, respiratory infections, fungal and viral infections, menstrual problems,
ringworm, shingles, shock, sores, spasms, sunburns, and fluid retention.
Application: Diffuse or apply topically. Massage to calm stressed muscles.
Add to food or water as a dietary supplement or flavoring.
